“Because your children live what they learn,” has been the philosophy of Playschool Child Care, Inc. since its beginnings in 1986. It is a philosophy that teaches readiness for life through social play and planned activities with peers and adults. We believe all children can and will succeed when given the opportunity to face challenges and learn with caring adults who provide the parameters for their success.
The relationships we develop with each family are very important to us. Strong connections and open communication with them help us to better understand their child’s unique needs. The positive relationships we develop with our families only deepen our ability to provide the highest quality care for their children.
The idea was that kids should confront risks and then conquer them alone, building resilience, self confidence and courage. Well trained adult “playworkers” were provided for supervision and would help when asked or needed, particularly in dealing with tools. However, they did not teach, direct, impose or interfere with creative expression. Today, playwork is a respected and well-paid profession in Europe and Japan. In Europe, it so highly valued that one can get an undergraduate degree in playwork.
Playschool highly values and respects the playworkers we have chosen to interact with your children. They are highly skilled and well trained. Our hope is that in the future their skill and value will be as recognized as it is in other countries. Until that happens, we are sincerely grateful for a passionate staff.
